Georgia Taxpayers Return of Real Property: PT50R
This form is to be filed with your county tax commissioner or county board of tax assessors between January 1 and April 1. This return is not mandatory, but should be used to declare what you believe to be the value of the property.
Property Tax Letter of Authorization
This form may be used to provide the tax assessor with permission to deal with a human being as a duly authorized representative of an entity when a property is not owned by a person. The signer should include their title as proof of their authority to name a representative, such as “Robert Johnson, Managing Member of 555 Oak St LLC”. Attach a copy of this signed form to all forms filed with the assessor.
Appeal of Assessment: PT311A
This form is used to APPEAL the assessment withing 45 of the date of the current year notice of assessment. These notices are issued and mailed by the individual Counties and the dates vary from County to County and from year to year, but after April 1.
The State of Georgia provides a uniform appeal form for use by property owners. The property owner must declare their chosen method of appeal. This form is to filed with your County Board of Tax Assessors within 45 days of the date of the notice.
